Berkeley William Gentry

Berkeley has finally arrived! Just ask Laci, it was quite a prolonged event. Labor and delivery took more than 28 hours. Mom and baby are doing well.

Born: 12/31/2008
Time: 10:07 AM
Place: Cambridge, Mass.
Weight: 7lbs 4.4oz
Length: 20in
Hair: "A little bit of red hair" according to Christian

Here he is just after he was born. Laci says he never cries unless they try to take him away from his mommy.

Hoss and friends are very proud and excited to welcome Berkeley into our family! Congratulations Christian, Laci, and Grandpa Billy!

News Flash- Baby Watch In Progress!

New developments since last night...

Laci called at 6:00AM to report that the baby had decided it was time to make his grand entrance into the world. We have been waiting all day for the news. As of the time of this posting, she is admitted into the hospital and is having contractions every 3-5 minutes.

When Christian was asked about her progress, he said, "All I know is that she has contractions, she screams and yells a lot, and then the baby comes out!". After hearing that, Bill and I have been online all day trying to find a quick flight to Boston to come to the rescue of poor Laci, who is completely in Christian's hands (except for the doctors and nurses, thank goodness!).
Grandpa and I are really excited and can't wait for the news! Just think, a beautiful baby boy and a tax deduction too!

Good luck Laci (and Christian)! We love you, and Berkeley too.

Our Blog Premiere

Hoss and his friends Bill, Lori, and Borris are excited to post our very first blog! We are inspired by Laci and Christian's funny and heart-warming stories and all of their terrific pictures. We doubt that there will be much exciting to report, but we will give it a try now and again.

The holidays have been a lot of fun (Lori) and a welcome week off work (Bill). The fiber optic 2- foot tree came out of the basement on December 23rd and was back in storage by December 26th. This is a surprising improvement over last year so we are all very proud of Prince William's holiday cheer. I would put in a photo of the tree at this point, but there wasn't time to take one.

We are so excited to welcome the little guy in just a few weeks (or days if Laci gets her wish). Here's a picture of Bill practicing his "grandpa" technique on Christmas morning with Lori's two grandkids-Corbin and Cierra. Isn't it wonderful!

We spent Christmas morning having breakfast and opening presents with Lori's family. Then we braved our way through a big snowstorm to Cottonwood Heights to enjoy a fun afternoon with Bill's family. We even got to go to Grandma's house to see Utella, who is going strong at 91!

Last night we spent the evening with Grandma Bateman. Watching the Sound of Music with her inspired Bill to belt out his own rendition of "The hills are alive..." accompanied by an Austrian waltz dance move. I wish you could have seen it!

Since we have the entire week between Christmas and New Years off, we are planning to spend the next few days having some fun. Weather permitting, we might take a little road trip down south (to Provo, says Bill!). That is if Aunt JaNean will watch the kids!

We love you and wish you all the best this holiday season!
